here’s what’s hoppening at the farm!

winter sets in

Winter in Seattle can be unpredictable at times. But our animals can’t wait for the weather to improve to get fed. Good thing the volunteers at the Sammamish Animal Sanctuary are weather warriors! Thank you to all who braved the elements to make sure our residents were well cared for! Watch the video for cameos by Willy the pig and other residents.

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, How tasty are thy branches!

Looking for a great way to recycle your Christmas tree? Our animals can help! Drop off your tree (minus the decorations!) and give the animals a little holiday treat! They will be moooved by your gift and surely make pigs of themselves!

SAS Gets new residents

Recently, our sanctuary took in a goat and her baby. The mamma goat is 12 years old and had some health issues that needed attention. She was also pregnant. Her name was simply Mamma Goat because she had given birth many times throughout her years. To give her a chance to heal and be free from breeding, we brought her and 10-month-old son, Billy, to our farm. Much to everyone’s delight, she gave birth on March 4 to a handsome little baby named Isaac. Mom, who we named Sara, and son are doing well and happy in their new home! Sara is done birthing and will be content to watch over the last of her babies.

There are so many more stories like Sara’s out there. Please help us give these animals a safe and happy place to live out their lives peacefully by donating today. Thank you for your support!
