Your first shift will include training. During this time, you’ll learn the basics and get more familiar with the farm. We are thrilled to have you join the Sammamish Animal Sanctuary family!
Requirements & Policies.
-
We require a commitment of at least three months. It takes time to train you and volunteers are essential for the rescue.
Because of the above, we do not offer court-ordered volunteer hours.
-
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and capable of working independently.
Volunteers who are between 14-16 years of age will be considered with substantial previous experience.
An adult may volunteer with their child who’s between 12 and 14 years of age. The adult must be with that child at all times.
-
A “no-show” is a volunteer who fails to attend their assigned shift without notifying a manager within 24 hours in advance.
The first and second “no-shows” will result in a warning.
The third “no-show” will result in the removal from the volunteer schedule. The Administrative Manager will reach out to see how we can adjust your schedule to one that you can attend consistently.
Again, volunteers are essential to the rescue. For example, not having a volunteer to help with feedings causes a huge impact. We appreciate your reliability and consistency.
